Valuation of instruments:

 

All our secondhand and vintage string instruments priced $1000 or above, have been professionally valued. A written copy can be provided at cost.

 

Service and Repair:

 

• All our secondhand instruments are serviced and repaired before being sold. The work is done by reputable repairers and restorers. Repairs are guaranteed for 12 months.

 

• Through our contacts, we can arrange for service and repair on instruments belonging to customers.

 

Trading in old instruments?

 

College Brass and Strings is a licensed secondhand dealer. We will accept any secondhand instruments bought from us,  from the original purchaser at the original sales price toward a similar instrument of greater price (violin to violin, etc.). You must provide us with the original sales receipt from College Brass and Strings. Any exceptions to this policy are at the sole discretion of College Brass and Strings.

 

Instruments bought originally as new can be traded in at second hand values, provided they are in good condition.

We generally allow 100% of the purchase price, on second hand instruments minus GST and whatever we have to do to put the instrument back in perfect condition. If the instrument has been maintained with a reasonable degree of care and has not sustained serious damage, we will charge approximately $100 for a violin, flute, clarinet and trumpet to $300 for a cello to service. We reserve the exclusive right to judge the condition of an instrument and to carry out any repairs. We want to take instruments back in trade - it is easier than finding instruments and restore them to our standard.

Return policy

 

We offer a 10 day return policy on any item purchased from us, providing it is still in the original condition.

                                                                                       

Country, National and International Customers

 

Our return policy applies to national and international customers. We will post items to you, where ever you are. Customers are responsible for all postage and insurance costs. Please ask for a postal quote.

We accept all major credit cards, eftpos, direct electronic money transfers, bank cheque and cash.
